Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of students in the experimental and
control classes after the implementation of the peer tutoring learning method assisted
by audio-visual media, as well as to determine the effect of this method on students’
learning outcomes. The research employed a Quasi-Experimental Design with a
posttest-only control design. The population consisted of all Grade XI Science students
at MA Sumber Bungur Pakong Pamekasan during the 2020/2021 academic year. The
samples were selected using purposive sampling, resulting in Class XI MIPA 1 as the
experimental class and Class XI MIPA 3 as the control class. Data were collected
through tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques used included the
Shapiro-Wilk test, F-test, and Z-test. The results showed that: 1) The learning outcomes
of students in the experimental class were higher than those in the control class, with
an average score of 84.69 in the experimental class and 77.50 in the control class. 2)
There was a significant effect of the peer tutoring learning method assisted by audio
visual media on students’ learning outcomes in the Human Excretory System topic for
Grade XI students at MA Sumber Bungur Pakong Pamekasan in the 2020/2021
academic year, with a significance value of 0.006.
