Justice is one of the most studied topics in philosophy. One of the interesting problems
to study in more depth is justice. This is due to the wide range of issues related to
morality, the state system and social life. Since the first appearance of Greek
philosophy, justice has been the subject of serious discussion by various philosophers.
Even in Islam, the portion of justice is above the portion of other studies. Islam as a
religion is expected to be at the forefront in realizing justice and developing an ethic of
justice. In his book "A Theory of Justice" it is evident that John Rawls attempted to
review fundamental issues in political philosophy by combining the principles of
freedom and the principle of equality. The social justice issues he presents are in-depth
discussions resulting from long dialogue and discussions involving many
philosophers, political experts, economists, sociologists and legal experts. This article
will provide a thorough review of the theories of justice according to John Rawls which
are considered the most comprehensive for current theories of justice.
