Abstract

Abstract

The practice of online personal shopper services (jasa titip, jastip) that has become increasingly popular through social media platforms provides convenience for consumers in obtaining goods without being physically present at the place of purchase. Nevertheless, this phenomenon raises concerns regarding the clarity of the contract (akad) applied, since many service providers conduct transactions without fully understanding the principles of Sharia Economic Law. In particular, the use of the wakālah bil ujrah contract often encounters issues such as lack of transparency in pricing and the potential for non-compliance with Islamic legal provisions. This research formulates two main problems: first, how is the practice of online personal shopper services carried out on the WhatsApp account Nanique Jastip and the Instagram account @jastipsukowono_? Second, how is this practice viewed from the perspective of Sharia Economic Law? The type of research employed is field research, conducted through direct observation and interviews with the relevant parties, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. In terms of nature, this study is descriptive-analytical, aiming to describe the mechanisms of online personal shopper services on the two accounts and to provide an analysis based on Sharia Economic Law principles. The objectives are to examine the implementation of these services and to assess their compliance with Islamic legal provisions. The findings reveal that both accounts employ the wakālah bil ujrah contract as the basis of their operations, but with different management approaches: Nanique Jastip relies on informal trust-based transactions, while @jastipsukowono_ adopts a more systematic model with structured order forms and promotional media. In conclusion, these practices are considered valid under Sharia Economic Law as long as the essential pillars and requirements of the contract are fulfilled, particularly concerning clarity of the transaction object, mutual agreement on service fees, and transparency of pricing.
